The Colorado Cup High School Series will be underway soon with several opportunities to compete locally in these fun races. The first race is April 14–15 The Spring Ice-Breaker hosted by CSM at Golden, CO.

Junior Olympics June 23–July 7 will be held in Denver this year. For info’ go to the Front Range Paddling Association Web site: FYI We will be sending coaches to JO’S and we need a parent volunteer.

We need you all to PLEASE step up and volunteer to help put on this event.

Volunteers are still needed for:

HOMESTAYS. This means offering visiting athletes a place to stay, with breakfast. Contact Susan, Homestay coordinator, at 385-7229.

THE “SOCIAL.” Can someone take on doing a simple pasta or Mexican dinner for the competitors? Time is Saturday afternoon/evening.

SAFETY BOATS. We need competent boaters, who are prepared to rescue, swimmers and their gear, to be posted at certain river spots during the Classic race on Saturday, and the Sunday Morning Sprint through Smelter. Wildwater boats can be a “handful” so we need plenty of help for this!

APRIL 1 marks the second quarter of the year!

We look forward to seeing our summer paddlers return from their winter sports. Please contact Helen or your coach to let us know that you’ll be starting again. Fees go to P.O.Box 3116, Durango CO 81302. ALL FEES ARE DUE PRIOR TO PADDLING. A drop-in card is available for $70 for 10 sessions. The coach keeps the card and will check off your attendance each time.

WILDWATER MONDAYS AT 5PM., 32ND ST.
