Coaching Experience: John received his degree in Exercise Physiology from Fort Lewis College in 1993. He coached Fort Lewis ski team for 2 years and spent a few years coaching the junior ski racing program. John has been a Durango Whitewater coach for 15 years.

Favorite River: Reventizon in Costa Rica (now dammed)

Favorite Race: Colorado Cup, and 1993 Team Trails on Rapid One on the Arkansas River in Buena Vista. He claims that "It is the best rapid for a slalom race I have ever had the opportunity to race on."
