2009 senior team trials


Durango Whitewater is pleased to have the opportunity to host the 2009 USACanoe/Kayak Slalom Senior Team Trials, May 15, 16, 17 at Whitewater Park in Durango, Colorado.

The following is a list of guidelines and information for the USACanoe/Kayak Slalom Senior Team Trials.

Rules:

The competition will be run in accordance with USACanoe/Kayak and ICF rules.

2009 USACK National Team Member Athlete Agreement

Competition format:

All athletes will compete in 2 runs per day, (Fri, Sat, Sun). Please see the selection document, (here) for further information detailing the selection criteria.

Entry fee:

The entry fee is $80.00 per athlete for one class. $15.00 for the second class. The entry deadline is May 13, 5:00 MST at the Picnic Pavilion in Whitewater Park.

Start order:

Athletes will be ranked according to the ICF rankings and then the USACanoe/Kayak rankings. Unranked athletes will be placed at the beginning of the class. The start order will be in reverse order meaning the #1 athlete will be the last athlete to start in his/her class.

Competitor list:

A competitor list will be posted Wednesday, May 13, on www.dgowhitewater.com. Please check that the spelling of names is correct. Click here for latest competitor list.

Demonstration runs:

Demonstration runs will be held Thur, Fri, Sat at 4:30 pm at Whitewater Park, followed by the course approval, changes will be posted on the results board.

Start list and bib distribution:

The official start list and bib hand out will be at the Picnic Pavilion following the demonstration runs at 5:00 pm.

Boat control:

Boat control will be at the Picnic Pavilion between 10:00 – 2:00 on Thursday, May 14. Following each run a random selection of boats may be checked by the boat controllers.

Start and finish:

Start and finish will be marked for the demonstration runs.

Start intervals:

-There will be a 120 second (2 minute) start interval for C1W

-60 second (1 minute) start interval for C1M, K1W, C2M, K1M

-30 minute break between run 1 and run 2

Results:

Provisional results, as well as official results will be posted on a board near the timing trailer. Live results can be seen at www.animastiming.com/index.php. Results of each day can be found on www.animastiming.com/index.php.

General safety:

Two boats are to stay at the finish.

Doping control:

In line with the World Anti Doping Code and the International Canoe Federation doping control rules, the United States Anti Doping Authority, (USADA) may conduct random drug testing at this competition.
